Hall of Fame
The OHS Athletic Hall of Fame committee is pleased to announce the 2023 inductees for the OHS Athletic Hall of Fame. This year, the committee will recognize six individuals who significantly contributed to OHS athletics.
OHS Athletic Hall of Fame Inductees for the Year 2023
Individuals:
- Keith Bangs Boys Golf Coach 1982-2016
- John Cummings Baseball, Basketball, Football, Track Class of 1944
- Dave Furness Owatonna Soccer Community Member
- Chuck Pribyl Baseball, Football, Hockey Class of 1972
- Kerry Shea Basketball, Golf, Soccer Class of 2002
- Cory Urban Football, Track, Wrestling Class of 2000
The induction ceremony will take place on Friday September 15, 2023 at the new Owatonna High School.
The committee is currently conducting a $20,000 fundraising campaign to fund an internet-based, interactive touchscreen monitor to display and promote the Athletic Hall of Fame at the new OHS. This campaign will run through June with the new display to be installed in

The OHS Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony was held on Friday September 16, 2022 at 4:00 PM in the OHS Auditorium.

Inaugural Teams of Distinction:
1950 Boys Track and Field (The first State Champs in OHS history)
1954 Boys Wrestling (State Champs-completed a perfect 11-0 season)
1974 Boys Baseball (State Champs-completed a 17-4 season)
1976 Girls Track and Field (AA State Champs--the 1st year of having two classes (A and AA) compete)
1989 Boys Basketball (State Champs--completed 24-1 seaon)
